Bending PVC pipes into a circle

I bet someone here knows how to do this real easy.

Here is the deal. We are building a 25' tall mushroom art car this year. We are using a 15.5' diameter dome that is made of short PVC pipes.
I need to secure the dome to the top of my mounting scructure. The mounting structure is made schedule 40 1 1/2" aluminum pipe with 1 13' tall center mast and 4X7' tall mounting point that make up the square of the bed of the vehicle.

When the dome sits on the 4 extended mounting poles it sags because there is on support on 4 points on the base of the dome.

My plan is to make a ring out of 1" PVC tube and secure that to the mounting structure and then the dome to the pvc ring.
I need to know what are the best connectors to make a 15.5' diameter ring. The connectors that I bought broke when I was trying to make a circle because they are too small and weak. Where do I buy heavy duty connectors so I can make a circle out of 1" pvc tube.

hopefully someone has an easy fix for this problem.

Cheers

    Hi Peter,

    Real simple soln to this.
Don't use those "Connectors" they sell.
Go down and find the next bigger size PVC. Probably 1.5 inch, that will slip over the 1inch you want to make your 15.5ft ring out of.
Cut this bigger diameter into a 2ft length.
Your best bet it probably to cut two lengths of 7/8 foot 1 inch, and use two of these 2ft slip over tubes.
I've used this set up for a 24 ft dia parachute parasol for years now. Never have a problem with it coming apart.

    Good Luck,
    Bertrum

Yup. 1 1/4" slides perfectly over 1". A foot on either side of the joint allows it to flex without breaking. You can also try 3/4" inside as well. You'll also need about 2 feet of length.
