What about pyramids?

I could not find any pyramid tribes, but thought that you guys might be able to provide some help or point me in the right direction.

I saw some good pyramids this year at Burningman. Primarily they are constructed with each side being made up of many smaller pyramids.

I like this design a lot, because if you want to increase the size of your structure it seems all you have to do is add another level to the bottom. While, if you want create a larger dome, you have to rebuild it from scratch.

Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or references for building pyramids?

This is actually something I'm looking into myself. I'm actually looking into bribing some architecture students here at the university to take it on as a project.

    Goals would be:

*Pyramid shaped structure large enough for 4+ adults to sleep in (the bigger the better)
*Constructed of renewable materials. Thinking bamboo, canvas tarping, natural rope, as little metal as possible
*Breaks down to fit in and/or on average sized passenger car
*Accommodate a decent size fire SAFELY
*Functionality, durability and form highest priorities in that order
*Expense, within reason, not a priority

    Unrealistic goal:

*Large enough, open enough for gatherings/performances

    Totally unrealistic bonus goal:

*Large enough, open enough and STRONG enough for aerial practice and/or performance

-Pokes (who's never short on ideas, good, bad and ugly)
