I was hoping for some comments on this dome design I came up with to take to Burning Man. With the high price of conduit these days, I wanted to come up with something sturdy using 1/2", but not too small and most importantly: cheap!
Here's the basic design, thanks to desertdomes.com for the original diagram:

The measurements are not exact, just working figures I've been using to help me conceptualize.
The main concern I have is whether the door will disrupt the structural integrity.
Any comments?

Re: Sturdy dome with 1/2 inch conduit, I think?
Mon, June 28, 2004 - 7:14 AMIt can be built with about 55 pieces of 10' EMT, which should put the cost at under $200. As for time, I've never built one before, but I hear it can be done in a weekend if you have the right tools. More info here www.desertdomes.com/index.html
