cardboard domes

These look great and are relatively inexpensive to make.

I have one that is not yet playa tested, and was thinking of making another for this year, with 1/4" wood panels instead of cardboard, and tabs that hinge, for flat-pack portability. Wood seems to hold up pretty well on the playa in a storm, not to mention that it completely blocks out the light. :) For anchoring, I would rebar the bottom gaskets, but I'd also like to attach guy wires from the centers of the five wall-pentagons, rebarring them into the ground, as well.

Since this design constructs a 12' 7" dome, and I would like something a little bigger, I've considered making two - one as a sleeping, dressing, and fooding area, with the other as a chill zone for our campmates and us.

I'm curious to hear from you all on what you think of the structural integrity of this design, especially if you have had experience with one of these on the playa, or know someone who has.
