I'm finally in the market to buy a dome... too late for Burning Man this year. As always I see lots of fantastic dome structures from 16ft to over 60ft. Where can I start shopping for easy to set-up and break-down domes for next years burn?

Here is the great thing, most those beautiful domes you see are built by the people that stay in them. Tara Landry put together a site a number of years ago that has helped a lot of people through the process of building their own dome.

    www.desertdomes.com/

There are a number of other different dome sites out there. You can spend days searching for “geodesic, geodesic domes, domes...” All of it is very cool and one you get into them it can become an addiction.

Some of the other domes not built by their owner were made by www.pacificdomes.com/

If you don’t want to build it yourself you may try these guys.

It will cost you a lot more than building it yourself. In fact I bet you could buy all the materials and the tools you will need for a lot less than an already complete dome.

    Good Luck

    Hi Paul:

I make dome frames for people at cost of materials plus $10/hr for my time. Since you're in Nevada, though, I'd have to ship it and that might get expensive.

I do this more out of a love of domes than a desire to make money.

You can write me at webmaster@aerialbear.com if you want to discuss it further.

    Best,
    Bear
