I was in the art and architecture book store in Sunday and came across this book simply called "Shelter"
www.amazon.com/Shelter-Ll...612-5158369
In it was an illustration for a dome connector by a man called Bob Woods and a company called DynaDomes, which no longer seems to be active.
I'm ordering the book and I'll post a pic of this simple, yet what appears to be a very effective connector for building octahedral domes.
Anybody else have this book?

Re: Bill Woods' DynaDome connector
Fri, June 15, 2007 - 6:08 AMDyna Domes were talked about in Domebook 2 ...The steel connectors had Flanges welded to the hubs ..it was a simple and effective way to connect dimensional lumber intio a geodesic form...

Re: Bill Woods' DynaDome connector
Fri, June 15, 2007 - 11:51 AMAh, yes, after a bit of googling I see that Shelter was after Domebook 2. The connectors I saw didn't seem to require welding though.
The book is on the way. I'll scan the technical illustration so all of you can see it. -

Re: Bill Woods' DynaDome connector
Mon, June 18, 2007 - 4:57 PMI followed the amazon link in the header post for this thread. I looked at "Shelter" and a second book by the same author "Home Work: Hand-Built Shelter". I placed an order and expect them both to arrive later in this week. Thanks a Bunch! Great tips to great books have made my Tribe account truly valuable!
